In the last EdgeOS video we looked at the auto firewall feature for port forwarding. In this video we look at the manual setup for port fowarding “aka: DNAT”, or Destination NAT.

We will walk through replicating the auto firewall rules that were created in the last video but we’ll do it manually and then look at those rules in the CLI.

You get more control over your rules doing them manually, but as I stated earlier, each setup has its place.

Here we create the firewall policy needed to allow WWW/HTTP (port 80) through the firewall.

We then create the appropriate destination NAT (DNAT) rules to map port 80 to our internal host from our WAN IP.

In the next video we’ll take a deep dive into EdgeOS/EdgeRouter firewall rules.
